Let the Games Begin!

And we're off.... Ben and Kara begin the watermelon eating competition with their game faces on.

He may be smaller, but Ben can put the watermelon away.

Kara feels victorious... and definitely scores extra points for eating down to the rind.

When the final bell sounds, taking body weight and experience into account, it looks like a draw.

Big Girl School

Kara started preschool today! She did well with her new teachers and new friends. With the new school comes some new rules (closed toed shoes - boo!) and a new lunch box (yeah!!).

I think she's going to have a great time...

I'll Wear Them Out

We all know that someone in the family has a shoe problem... which has been passed down to the kids. Sho could not pass up a bargain and could not have been prouder that both of the kids wore their new shoes out of the store.

Happy 4th!

We spent the 4th of July at Auntie Diane's house. The kids got to run around in their suits and play in the water.



Kara learned about water balloons...



As did Ben.



I think the highlight for Kara was looking through Auntie Di's closet and finding her fabulous, pink high heels!

The little things...

Sho and I talked about how much we love the little things in life that make our kids so happy... like a strawberry ice cream cone!




Ben is saying more and more each day. We love hearing his little voice communicate his thoughts.



Kara discovered that our Ralphs has little shopping carts, so she loves helping with the groceries and we have lots of friends who she is always excited to see.

Toy Story

On opening weekend, we joined the masses and Kara saw her first movie in a theatre.






Kara enjoyed the movie. Her favorite part was Barbie, of course.
