Utensils, please!

Ben has decided that being in control is more fun, so sometimes we indulge him and give him his own spoon.

So far, so good....

Look, pretty good!

I told ya...

Birthday Celebration #3

Our final celebration was at Disneyland...

'Cause you only turn three once!

We rode on the favorites like Dumbo and the Teacups...

... and tried a few new rides.

Kara decided she is now old enough to take pictures with Mickey without Mommy and Daddy... our little girl is growing up!

Disneyland Souvenir

Kara loves the Sleeping Beauty movie and she likes to sing and dance to "Once Upon a Dream." So, now she can wear her Sleeping Beauty dress and twirl around.

And after three birthday celebrations, she is our sleeping beauty.

Birthday Celebration #2

We celebrated Kara and Ben's birthdays with their friends at school and of course we had to have cupcakes.

And Kara insisted that she wear her favorite dress, again, for her birthday party.

Princess Cake!

Kara was so excited to have three princesses on her birthday cake, she could hardly contain herself!

Who's gonna be three!!

What does a princess wish for....

Birthday Celebration #1

With all of our family in town for Thanksgiving, we celebrated Kara and Ben's birthdays a little early.

Happy 3rd Birthday, Kara!

Happy 1st Birthday, Ben!

Visit to Koi

We made a family trip to Koi Hair Design to see Shirley so that we could all get haircuts. Kara got her hair trimmed and curled.

She really liked her curls!

Ben did well with his first real haircut. Don't be fooled by this face... Ben had a great time at Shirley's salon.

See!

Princess Party

Kara helped Penny celebrate her 3rd birthday and got to dress up like a princess and meet Cinderella! She started out in her Cinderella dress and did a few outfit changes; she ate cake and brought home a wand and a crown and a bunch of princess goodies.

What more could a little girl want?

Play date

Kara and Penny have a lot of fun together... playing, coloring, snacking...

It is too cute.

Trick or Treat

Kara went around the neighborhood trick or treating this year and had a good time collecting candy.

Ben enjoyed passing out and playing with the candy.

Happy Halloween!

Our Little Ones

Kara always tries to help Ben.... as she reminds us, "I'm the big sister now."

But sometimes, being the big sister can be down right frustrating.

Despite the little things here and there, Kara says, "I love Ben and Mommy and Daddy so much."

Super Ben

He can lift a pumpkin with one hand...

He seeks justice for all...

He's ready to go when needed...

He's our Super Ben!!
Ben is thinking about all the possibilities that await.

Our Rosetta Fairy

Kara decided she wanted to be Rosetta, a fairy from the Tinker Bell movie, for Halloween. So, Grandma made her wish come true.

Penny

We've been going to the park on Saturday mornings and have become friends with Penny and her parents. I talked with Penny's mom about how meeting kids and their parents at the park is like being on the dating scene... Do I ask for the phone number? Do we really intend to meet up again or are we just getting the phone number with no intention of calling? It's really funny... In any case, I think we've got a standing Saturday morning date whenever we're in town. It's been great to watch the girls together.... so sweet.

Just like my sister

Ben is all over the place, crawling as fast as his chunky, little legs will take him. He follows us around the house and sometimes it seems as soon as he gets to where Kara is, she's moves into another room and he's off again... following her lead.

Ben found the big window for the first time, which was so reminiscent of when Kara did the same thing when she was about his age...

This one is actually Kara...

And here's our Ben. Gotta love it.

Pull Ups and Big Girl Panties

Kara is on her way to being potty trained, which is very exciting for all of us!

And she's keeping up with what's happening in the world.

What are they doing...

Ben is 9 1/2 months old and he pulls himself up to stand and he's been crawling for a couple of weeks. He is exploring and enjoying his new found sense of freedom.

He tilts his head, reaches up and says 'hi'!

Kara likes to help with Ben but she's definitely developed the sense of 'mine'... She sings to Ben when he's going to sleep, she has imaginary conversations on the phone and mimics our pauses and responses, she's talking non-stop, constantly thinking it's her birthday... she is definitely growing up fast.
