Here I Come!

Ben and Kara had to get new helmets, as it seems their brains are continuing to grow. Ben has always preferred that we push him on a toddler tricycle, but yesterday he decided it was time to peddle! He started off a bit tentative, keeping his eyes on his feet...

But soon he was riding down the driveway, doing turns and even riding to the other side of Grandma and Pampa's house to collect some tangerines for a snack! He loved riding his bike so much that he had to be bribed to go inside.

We think Kara is ready to try her bike without training wheels, but she's not sure she's ready for the next step... That's okay. She's enjoying her exercise, finding flowers and her new turquoise helmet!

Did you ever think you'd see in her a color other than pink or purple?

New Blooms, New Ride, New Tricks

Everywhere we look, there are trees blossoming! We see a lot of pink, now called "pinkies" and white "popcorn" popping up all over the place.

We finally decided to get a van... Sho has always been in favor of the van, but it took a little convincing to get me to take the plunge. But when we got the van, it was like we were in the Toyota Sienna commercial and the kids asked if we could just sit in the car and watch a DVD. Kara said, "this... car... is... perfect!" I must say, it's roomy and convenient!

Jason seems like he's maturing so quickly! He's rolling all over the place and when he's on his tummy, he puts his arms out and kicks his legs like he's swimming.

And his newest accomplishment is being able to sit unassisted. From one day to the next, it seems like everything just clicked and now he's upright!

Stay tuned... with everything going straight to the mouth and all of the drool, I think teeth are coming soon :)

Kara's Family Picture

Kara has been drawing a lot of family pictures recently and for some reason, she and I are always in crowns! In this one, I happen to be wearing a purple veil as well.

We are a happy family :)

Six Months!

Jason had a check up yesterday and the doctor confirmed what we already knew... He's a big boy and he is a smily people-person! Jason weighed in just over 19 pounds. No wonder that infant carrier is feeling so incredibly heavy.

Even though this picture is from a few weeks ago, it's one of my favorites. If you can imagine Jason's legs kicking when he's got his arms out and a big smile... this is how he looks when he's happy because he thinks "she's gonna pick me up! It's me! It's me!"

How could anyone resist?

Happy Valentine's!

Kara and Ben had two Valentine's Day parties at preschool... which meant lots of cards to prepare, including some special cards for their teachers. Kara has always loved coloring and has always been very careful about coloring in the lines.

Ben usually scribbled on the paper and quickly said, "I'm done." But recently he started to color with great concentration and now, he likes to show us how he also colors inside the lines. We also see that he's probably going to be a lefty.

Grandma 'Rene made special cookies for everyone... reminding us how much we are loved!

And you can't forget Jason!

Hope your Valentine's Day was full of love and sweet surprises!
