Magic of the Band-Aid

Kara got a little scratch on her foot and asked for a Band-Aid. Ben then came up to me and said, "I don't feel good." When I asked where he was hurting, he said, "my feelings"....

and when I asked, what I could do, Ben asked for a Band-Aid to be placed on his knee. Now he's all smiles, especially because he believes he found a dinosaur tooth in the backyard. It's so refreshing to see the world from the eyes of a two and a half year old.

Never underestimate the power of the Band-Aid and a little TLC.

Car-Ma-What?

We were warned for over a month about the 405 Freeway closure and the terrible traffic to expect (called "Car-Mageddon" in L.A.), but we ventured out to go see Winnie The Pooh this weekend.

The kids loved the movie - it was a laugh out loud for both of them. As I type this, Ben is sinigng the Winnie the Pooh song. Makes me wish I would have saved all of the Winnie the Pooh stuff I collected over the years...

And time with Grandma 'Rene is always a treat!

July...

We've had a pretty mellow summer... thank goodness it cooled down a bit - it was too hot to be this pregnant.

Ben's spent most of his summer reading books, playing with cars, reminding us that "Cars" is his favorite movie, and his new love seems to be dinosaurs. He goes around the house "roaring" as a dinosaur.

I feel like I've spent July continually asking, "Do you have to go pee-pee? Let's go potty." Happy to say, so far, so good with the potty training!

Kara started swimming lessons and has learned to paddle and kick with her face in the water. She's got more to learn, but she's definitely made more progress than she would've with us. Her teacher asks her to take a big breath and Kara opens her mouth as big as she can, tilts her head back (as if the air "up there" is better), before she puts her face in.

She's having a great time and is very eager for her baby brother to be born so she can help take care of him. Hopefully that will happen sometime early August :)
